"A love for beautiful things has always guided the way I dress.

After embracing Islam, I found that the same level of refinement was largely absent from clothing designed for women who choose to dress modestly.

Where was I supposed to turn? Who could I trust?

My values and my taste seemed to stand in opposition. A choice between the two felt necessary or at least, that is what I believed.

I refused to accept that elegance and modesty were incompatible when, in reality, they are deeply complementary.

It is from this refusal to compromise that Ayleene was born."

Ayleene was founded from a simple conviction: it should be possible to dress beautifully, dress thoughtfully, and dress according to one’s values without having to choose between them.

Materials

The fabric is where every garment begins.

We select our materials according to their intended purpose, favouring natural fibres for their comfort, longevity, and ability to age gracefully. Linen and cotton are chosen for their breathability. Lyocell for its fluidity and softness. Merino wool for its warmth and refinement.

When technical fibres are used, they are introduced only when they fulfil a specific function whether durability, performance, weather protection, or ease of care and always in carefully considered proportions. Never by default.

Every textile is evaluated not only for its appearance, but for its touch, its durability, and its place within a more responsible approach to creation.
